Mrs. Ololade Olawunmi Agboola (née Abisogun) is a distinguished Public Affairs and Communications professional with over twenty-five (25) years of meritorious service in the Lagos State Public Service. Renowned for her excellence in public relations, media management, strategic communication, and stakeholder engagement, she began her career at Adland Advertising Agency, where she worked in the Client Service Department as an Advertiser. Her role involved managing clients, creating impactful campaigns, and developing marketing strategies—an experience that provided her with a strong foundation in brand management and marketing communication.
In 1999, she joined the Lagos State Radio Service (Radio Lagos and Eko FM) as an Executive Officer (Commercial), where she handled marketing and advertising services for both public and private organisations. Her innovation, commitment, and client-focused approach significantly boosted the station’s revenue base and earned her the Most Promising Staff Award (2002). Following a review of job designations, her nomenclature was changed from Executive Officer (Commercial) to Marketing Officer, reflecting the evolving nature of her responsibilities. She later transferred to the Ministry of Information and Strategy, where she served as Deputy Director, Public Affairs, and Head of Information Ikeja Division, coordinating grassroots communication, strengthening government-community relations, and enhancing public enlightenment on state programmes and policies.
Mrs. Agboola subsequently served as Deputy Director and Head, Public Affairs Department at the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, where she managed the agency’s image, media relations, and public sensitisation on fire safety. Her proactive communication strategies improved the agency’s visibility and public confidence. Presently, as Director of Public Affairs at the Lagos State Electrification Agency (LSEA), she provides leadership in media engagement, public communication, and stakeholder relations—advancing Lagos State’s electrification agenda, promoting clean energy awareness, and fostering community partnerships for sustainable power initiatives.
She holds an MBA in Marketing from Lagos State University, and both an HND and OND in Mass Communication from Ogun State Polytechnic, where she received the Chief Soniran Sowemimo Award for Best Student in Public Relations (1994/95). A member of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), and Chartered Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Mrs. Agboola has attended numerous professional courses, including The Art of Speaking and Presentation, Community Relations and Grassroots Mobilisation, Inclusive Female Leadership, and Customer Service Excellence. Her career embodies a lifelong commitment to effective communication, ethical leadership, and excellence in public service.
